he Paris Bourbonites were based in Paris, Kentucky, and played in the Blue Grass League, a Class D minor league circuit in central Kentucky.
The Bourbonites played during multiple periods in the early 1900s, most notably:
- 1909–1915 (with interruptions)
- Various Blue Grass League seasons before World War I
Paris was a relatively small town, but the Blue Grass region was a hotbed of baseball.
Paris is the county seat of Bourbon County, making "Bourbonites" a perfect local nickname.
It's one of the earliest examples of a baseball team being named after a regional product or identity.
